27, female, former terf bangs haver, mmo addict in recovery
I spend my free time reading and watching stuff, browsing imageboards and attempting to touch grass
I really enjoy reviewing things but I don't enjoy the dynamic that comes from review sites such as myanimelist or goodreads which (among other things) is what created the need for this site. Plus I feel like I can speak more freely here without worrying about creating an unfavorable image on their forums...
I've been terminally online since I was 9 and you will see that it is (unfortunately?) reflected in my postings. I started with browsing funnyjunk too young and gradually transitioned to other more female oriented imageboards and spaces, I greatly value anonymous posting even though the enshittification of my favourite spaces is in constant progress (or maybe I'm just getting older...).
I started up this website in 2020 on neocities. I was studying web design in uni and it rekindled my love for html and css. In childhood, I had a short stint of on and off blogging from 2007 until 2010 which included doing some rudimentary web design, all heavily inspired by my best friend's older and waaaay cooler teenage sister.
Here's a deep and thought provoking excerpt from my old blog in 2010:
My mind is really fucked up xDNot much changed, did it...
After almost 5 years of neocities, I decided to move to nearlyfreespeech because I really wanted a backend, and to streamline a lot of the things I've been doing manually for so long. Automatic rss updates and markdown for my diary and reviews have been a life saver.
During summer, when my general site update activity drops, you'll see me near a body of water a lot of the time. I love rivers the most although the sea is also a favourite. I grew up in a town with lots of rivers, and every summer I'd spend hours daily going swimming with my family or friends, along with us spending summer vacations at the seaside (when the money situation allowed it). Thus, being near water became a staple in my life during summer. It cures my depression, and I can always think the most calmly when swimming, floating, diving and relaxing.
My happiness reaches peak levels when I go to the river, swim a bit, get out, sit under a tree's shade and read books. If I could do it until the end of time, I would!!
Even though I like swimming in the sea I'm very sensitive to the salt so I need a source of fresh water somewhere near because the moment I'm out I need to be desalinated immediately.
On the seaside, my favourite places are long piers unused by boats that lead to deep water so that I can jump in and out for hours. I'm being serious here I could (and did) spend hours doing it.
Rapidfiring some randomass shit because idk where to put it... I procrastinate to a harmful degree but I love to learn and work with a set schedule imposed upon me, I care but I struggle with expressing it, freedom of speech is very important to me, I hesitate and ruminate a lot, however in times of crisis I don't have issues with prioritizing and organizing myself and my thoughts, it takes me long to become self confident in something but once I get there I tend to be too stubborn about it, I tend to replay conversations in my head a lot but I don't overthink about how people perceive me, I do not subscribe to the system of gender roles and oppose those that want to reinforce it, if it wasn't weird I would be naked all the time, I have a huge fear of revealing my complete music taste to my irl friends lmao
No idea what to put here, have a look at my birth chart I guess.

100 questions for webmasters,
by mouseckynovember 10th 2025
- 1. Please introduce yourself.
- cabbage, kupus, zelje, zeljana
- 2. How long have you been making websites?
- since 2020, but I had experience with some html/css editing through blog services in 2007 and then tumblr themes in 2012
- 3. And what got you into the hobby?
- studying web design in uni and really wanting to have my own personal echo chamber
- 4. What kind of website are you most interested in?
- i love highly personal websites with lots of blogging and introspection from the webmaster
- 5. What's your workflow? Do you plan your websites out thoroughly or do you come up with the design as you go along?
- first i spend too much time thinking about what i want, then i get pissed and i start making a random graphic, after the graphic comes a rudimentary layout and then i start writing the content. sometimes i write a part of the content before anything else.
- 6. Please link to your biggest inspirations.
- if i started listing it would never end... my whole button wall is a collection of sites i enjoy one way or the other and considering all of them are personal websites i'd say all of them inspired me in some way
- 7. What's your favourite part about making websites?
- i love the point where something clicks and after setting up the basics you get a surge of inspiration that could keep you designing and tweaking stuff for hours in one sitting. it's rare when it happens for me - which is why i don't change layouts that often. anytime it happens i enjoy being in the zone so much
- 8. And the thing you struggle with the most?
- i struggle with starting. this is a general flaw.
- 9. Do you keep the same layout on all of your pages? Or do you use different ones?
- i use different ones here or there, for things i consider a one and done deal. however, my current overarching layout applies to most of my site right now.
- 10. How confident are you with CSS?
- pretty confident, but i'm constantly learning new things
- 11. Do you know how to correctly use <dl>?
- yes! i used it on my forum based dressup sites index. i think i learned about it in web design class
- 12. What is your favourite HTML element?
- <details> and <summary>. i love those so much for spoilers or long spergouts. the collapsibleness of it all
- 13. If you're making a new web page from scratch, what is the first thing you do?
- i always start with making the main graphic
- 14. Do you know JavaScript?
- a bit yes, i don't like it
- 15. How about PHP?
- more than a bit, but still most of my php is not really hand written (besides my php project in uni!). i could say i understand it enough to copy it from other sources LOL
- 16. Does your website have a theme that you stick to?
- yes, we sort cabbages
- 17. Are you more focused on content or design?
- definitely more focused on content. design is like once in a while kind of thing, but the purpose of the site is for my reviews and diary entries to have their rightful place in the online world
- 18. Do you own a domain name? If not, would you ever want to?
- yes i do!! look up!!
- 19. What do you think of nostalgia-focused or "retro" websites?
- they impress you easily when you're new to this space. when they're done the way humanfinny does it i respect it a lot. but i have to admit nowadays i scroll away from most self proclaimed "frutiger aero" layouts that use the same 20 graphics, there's only so many you can see until it all turns into mush. i don't look down on them completely because i understand this is almost a rite of passage if your (re)introduction to personal wesbites is through neocities. doesn't help that most of these sites never update after a month and if they do update they tend to grow out of the style quickly which is neat to see. i love seeing people find their voice in web design, it happened to me as well! i kinda started out as a cinni knockoff if im being real
- 20. Is your HTML valid? Do you even check?
- i have a habit of checking because of uni, but do i have a habit of fixing? only if its egregious
- 21. What are your opinion on buttons and banners?
- i like them. small, easy to share, it's like a cuter version of business cards
- 22. What do you think of button walls in particular?
- i like them too. when a website doesn't have an rss feed my seasonal button wall refresh makes me check out all of the sites and see if they've added something new
- 23. If you started over again, would you make something similar or completely different?
- since i just started over recently - i made sure to have a proper backend and database and scripts for uploading anything and everything to make management of this site easier.
- 24. Are you envious of other people's websites?
- hmmm yes and no. i'll really enjoy a layout but i'll be fully aware that it wouldn't fit for the type of content i'm going for (lots of text) and then there's nothing to be jealous of. i admire a lot of websites and their general art skills though. being an artist helps you move your site to a higher level
- 25. What text editor do you use?
- vsc
- 26. Why do you use that one?
- it's convenient... i use the terminal for git, my scripts and to ssh into my site
- 27. Do you host your image files on your web server, or on another host?
- my web server, with the exception of my now defunct outfits page for life makeover. the full sized outfits are hosted on catbox. when i started in 2020 i used discord for like a month until i realized it's stupid.
- 28. This might not be relevant to you, but what's your opinion on the Neocities vs. Nekoweb debate?
- i'm a big community watcher, i'm not going to lie. i see nekoweb as a neocities splinter and a younger less serious sibling. neocities has a wider reach and therefore more colorful userbase, nekowebs community is based on discord which is a bit cringe. it will take a while for them to break away from this image and i know they want to... i have a feeling they're more close knit and personal which could be intimidating to some and attractive to others, it seems like the overall spirit of nekoweb is stronger than that of neocities. when i was new to neocities i didn't feel like there was a circlejerk, whereas i'm not sure i could say the same about nekoweb due to their discord based community haha. from a clinical hosting standpoint nekoweb offers cooler features but it will brand you as a child. both are too expensive for what they offer, my page costs me like 1.2$ a month...
oh and let me just add a whole day after publishing this because i just remembered - nekowebs global rss feed is an awesome feature. i'm an rss fiend. - 29. How much server space would you estimate your main website takes up?
- i know because i check pretty often, 250mb
- 30. Do you keep local backups of your files?
- yes, everything on my site is done locally and then uploaded to production
- 31. Do you prefer simple or highly visual websites?
- i like both! simple sites are easier to read long term, and i don't think every webmaster is capable of doing that with a highly visual site since it takes a lot of skill! i don't like extremely, extremely cluttered websites though. i'll take a glance, think it looks like a cool collage and then never come back probably, they get overwhelming easily.
- 32. Do you stick to certain colours? Do you do that on purpose, or is it your subconscious?
- i like muted colors, it's easy on my eyes
- 33. Have you ever thought about quitting? Why?
- haven't thought about it at all
- 34. Do you have many webmaster friends, or is it a solitary hobby?
- i do have friens
- 35. Do people in your real life know about your website?
- my family does but they don't read it. i read out a lot of my reviews to my mom and we discuss it sometimes... a lot of my diary entries are also just things i tell her, she knows all the niche internet dramas im into. same goes for my husband, although he does check my site sometimes.
- 36. Do you update your website very often? How often is "very often"?
- right now i'm in a state of total mania and unemployment (and my language classes being cancelled), so i'm tweaking it daily. at my worst i updated the site once a month or something like that. when things calm down i'll update just for my diary entries/reviews/lm ootds
- 37. And the overall design, do you change that much? Why or why not?
- nooo it's a hassle. this is my 5th layout but i had the last layout for like 2 years. the more content and pages i have the harder it is to do a major overhaul.
- 38. Is your website more you-focused, hobby-focused, or outside world-focused?
- me me me me
- 39. Do you do web design professionally?
- no but i was a TA in web design class for a bit, and my internship had me working with modern front end dev with react and clojure. i didn't enjoy it much. fun fact, that company has now completely turned into a gen ai consultation company and the branch i was doing my internship in closed...
- 40. If not, would you like to? And if you're comfortable answering, what do you do for work?
- very unemployed, my degree allows me to work as an assistant librarian, archivist or anyone working with data so hopefully ill have a job related to that in the future
- 41. Do you communicate with people by email very much?
- i used to do it more, i don't get as many emails anymore nor do i send out as many
- 42. Some people reject social media and use websites as a replacement. Do you keep social media outside of your website?
- i need it still, instagram is a must if you're into tattoos. i use titkok to watch videos and doomscroll, but i limit my usage to 30 min a day. facebook is just for family. i don't post anywhere
- 43. How about instant messengers? Do you use a mainstream one like Discord or Telegram? Or something like Matrix? Do you avoid them?
- my discord account just turned 10 years old. i'm in like 3 active discords though. i have accounts on other platforms but they're useless if nobody i know uses them
- 44. Do you listen to music while you work on websites? If so, what kinds of artists?
- sometimes, usually ambient or jazzy stuff while designing stuff. when i write content i can't listen to music
- 45. Do you keep everything you make on one website, or do you have more than one?
- all in one. i'm too lazy for a whole network of websites, and honestly that concept never appealed to me
- 46. On a similar note, do you keep to one topic on your site, or many?
- i'd say the three constants on my website for the past 2 years are my reviews, my diary and my obsession with life makeover lmao. however, i talk about anything that interests me
- 47. Do you present your real self, or at least try? Or do you construct a persona on purpose?
- i change a lot of details for privacy purposes and i don't say absolutely everything about myself, but i'm not playing up a persona
- 48. Have you ever made a good friend thanks to your website?
- yes!
- 49. Are you happy with the way HTML and CSS currently work?
- i would say so, yes
- 50. What are practices that you think people should avoid?
- hosting all of your images outside of your website, and i mean like crucial graphics that make your layout look the way it does. stop that. and autoplay is a classic one.
- 51. What about under-utilised practices, or things you think people should do more?
- i need people to be more unhinged and less politically correct. a lot of people are bound by social media rules when website hosts let you get away with a lot more. i don't mean in just a politisperging context, i just get a feeling a lot of people self-police unhealthily... also... USE RSS FEEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!
- 52. Do you use a lot of semantic HTML? Or are you guilty of generic structure?
- i mix both. it's not like it's less or more readable for me personally since i tend to semantically name my classes and me is who my site is for. if i was making a website professionally and needed it to be accessible to everyone than yea, i'd use more semantic html
- 53. Do you consider different browsers?
- yes, i open my website on firefox too.
- 54. Speaking of, what's your preferred browser? Convince your readers why they should use it.
- i use brave but it pisses me off because certain cloudflare captcha stopped working on it and now i have to use firefox along it lmao
- 55. And what OS are you on?
- im a windows cuck, life sucks when youre a gaymer
- 56. Do you have a strong opinion on that, or do you just happen to use it?
- it pisses me off more and more every day, i have ubuntu as well though
- 57. Are your websites mobile-friendly?
- i try to make them more mobile friendly with media querries but i dont concern myself too much with how it actually works on mobile. sorry phonefags you matter less and always will
- 58. What are your thoughts on autoplay?
- cancer, i also don't like websites with sound effects for the navbar oh my god talk about overstimulating
- 59. What are your thoughts on webrings? Are you in any?
- i'm in a few but waiting for my domain change to be updated for some of them.
- 60. Do you have any web shrines? What do you like to see in that sort of page?
- i do! i love to see your own opinion on whatever you're making the shrine about, i don't really care for the basic info haha
- 61. Are your websites "cliche", in your opinion?
- hm i guess i don't have any type of a novel concept on my site, except being the only personal website ever (outside of china i presume) that posts about life makeover
- 62. What is your ideal website? Are you striving for that, or for something else?
- i have no idea what my ideal website would be... i'm really content with my site at the moment
- 63. Are you an artist? Do you draw or design your own assets?
- i am nyot ;_;
- 64. What are your favourite resource sites?
- right now i don't have any, i don't use any.
- 65. Is there a habit you just can't get away from no matter how hard you try?
- making grids that i'll struggle to decipher in the future, and being all around messy - but that's also a general character flaw not related to just website making
- 66. What's your biggest advice for a new webmaster?
- don't be scared to start with a plain html layout and some of your thoughts on something random, build the rest from there
- 67. Do you keep all your styling in CSS? Or do you hard-code some?
- i try not to hardcode, it's mega confusing.
- 68. What do you think of frameset layouts?
- they're kind of fucky
- 69. How about table-based layouts?
- i respect people that do them in the year of our lord 2025
- 70. Do you subscribe to the ideas of "one-column", "two-column" and "three-column" layouts? Do you use any of these?
- i mean... use whatever layout that will help you get your ideas across. i don't understand people that sperg over x-number-layouts and columns, it's the least important thing ever
- 71. Do you spend longer on the HTML or the CSS?
- if we don't count me actually writing content, then css
- 72. Have you ever made a page with no CSS? It's useful for your thoughts.
- my diary archives are css free i guess
- 73. Do you ever find yourself making layouts with nothing to put on them? Or do you only make layouts when the need arises?
- only when the need arises
- 74. Would you consider yourself a beginner? Or advanced? Somewhere in the middle?
- advanced maybe, i'm not a pro and i'm not up to date with latest practices even though i'm getting more interested in css capabilities now more than ever
- 75. Do you have a habit of looking at the source code of websites you visit?
- yes, especially if i'm in the process of making a new layout like now, i inspect everyone and everything
- 76. How did YOU learn how to make websites?
- i learned in class, i don't remember how i learned the basics in 2007 though - literally 0 recollection
- 77. Do you ever force elements to do things they're not supposed to?
- uhmmm not anymore i think
- 78. Thoughts on floating elements?
- i like them but they're the one thing i'd say you need to make sure doesn't break browsing on mobile
- 79. When you're sizing stuff, what do you use first? Do you use px, em, %, or something else?
- depends on the element. i fully swapped to em/rem for fonts, i still use px for borders and shadows, vw and vh for width and height of elements etc
- 80. Do you have a favourite font?
- nope i'm not faithful to a font. i really like my current font though, space grotesk
- 81. Would you run a website with another person? How would that work?
- sure, i just don't know what about
- 82. Do you surf the Web to find new personal websites very often?
- yes, all the time
- 83. Do you bookmark other people's websites? How would you feel knowing someone else bookmarked yours?
- i bookmark them if it's for something specific, but i prefer rss feeds for keeping up with websites. and i'd be happy of course! even if it's for hate purposes lmao
- 84. What do you want people to be most impressed with when they see your website?
- i'm the happiest when people tell me their thoughts on something we both read/watched, or comment on something i said, even if it's negative
- 85. Are you interested in technology outside of websites? Do you collect?
- not really, i have my old consoles that all still work and i don't like collecting things
- 86. How often and for how long are you online?
- it depends, some days im available all day but other days i prefer touching grass
- 87. When it comes to your website, who is your target audience?
- me, you know how people get obsessed with watching their instagram stories? that's me with my website, i'm my own biggest fan
- 88. Have you ever been interested in XHTML?
- no, i have a feeling i worked with it in some form at my internship but i dont remember anymore
- 89. Do you program in general? Have you ever written a program for use with or on your website, not counting simple JavaScript?
- nope i don't really enjoy it. i had python and js classes in uni, wasn't a huge fan. even though i can read and understand code, i'm bad at applying it on my own without external help. the fact that i made some kind of a dictionary/word processor program in uni was a sheer miracle, along with a tts program too.
- 90. Speaking of programs that help you make websites, what do you think of static site generators (SSGs)? Have you ever used one?
- don't use them, don't know how they work
- 91. Do you keep a hitcounter? Why or why not?
- i don't, i do however process my log file because i like to see external referrers. i don't care about hits/views but i love seeing how people find my website
- 92. Do you frequent forums? Which ones?
- i don't ;_;. i really wish there was a revival of anime forums specifically. i don't like the mal posting culture so i don't post there. last forum i was super active on was everskies and i got #cancelled for being a terf le sigh (never got a ban tho :3). i mostly go on imageboards
- 93. Do you write your page content directly into the editor, or do you prepare it elsewhere, like a text document or a Word document?
- directly into the editor, i have some type of spellcheck plugin so i don't feel the need for a word editor. i also just.. don't care if my text has a few spelling mistakes
- 94. Do you think you appear cool to others? A more accurate answer now: do other people ever say you're cool?
- while the amount of guestbook messages increased the amount of people contacting me decreased severely after i got to the first page of most visited sites on neocities (for clarity, i don't know if this is a coincidence and if people actually think this is a status symbol or if i'm just schizoing out), i feel like people are scared of me or something. i'm also not as young (read: more than 25 yrs old) anymore so maybe all the ~18 year olds feel intimidated... i don't think i exude some inherent coolness besides some balkanic barbarism (how do you translate krkanluk). i don't even receive hate messages or "why are you a terf" emails anymore...
i've been told i'm cool before, i've also been referred to as pretentious which genuinely wtf... i think i'm spergy but can be self assured in my weird way which may come across as cool or pretentious, if that makes sense. - 95. Are you embarrassed of your old work? Have you ever deleted everything out of shame?
- no. i have obviously changed in the 5 years since i started this website and i might find some of my observations slightly cringe or whatever but i'll keep it up anyway.
- 96. Would you close down your website if you couldn't update it, or would you leave an archive?
- i would leave an archive on a static host if i couldn't keep up with domain and host payments or something. it's sad when people delet
- 97. Do you reveal a lot about yourself on your website? Or are you more secretive?
- yes, maybe more than i should. but sometimes i want to reveal even more. i don't post this openly about myself anywhere else. even picture wise
- 98. Are you willing to reveal who your best online friend is, and/or if they have a website?
- i can't say i'm as close and open with anyone as i am with my irl best friend if i take her as a baseline, so i don't think i have an online bestie (yet)
- 99. And do you optimise the images on your website?
- yea i try to. generally the biggest images tend to be the background side image, all rest is pretty tiny
- 100. We're out of time! How do you feel after answering 100 questions? ....other than exhausted.
- i like these questionnaires in general, so it was fun!!
