Sousou no Frieren 2nd Season; Winter 2026

I liked this season less. You could sum it up as Pretty Montage: The Season, in preparation for a good arc, or so I've heard.

The best part was at the midpoint in the village with Methode and Genau, both being characters I liked a lot in the first season so I'm glad we got to see more of them.

While I'm really all for the chill adventuring and questing aspect of the story, it seems like it's starting to get a bit repetitive, mostly because there's almost no suspense and we're only being told "this monster will be tough", yet after the quick montage everything always turns out alright... So it just makes the whole sequence feel kind of uneventful.

On the bright side, compared to season 1 I haven't been massively disappointed by horrible character designs. Methode looks really cool in her long winter coat and 90s anime bangs, and I really liked Zorida (Solide?) and that cute boy demon design wise too, too bad their part in the story was so short, but that was also the best fight this season so they played their part well I guess.

All in all a pretty quiet and uneventful season, but it's not like I was turbo bored watching it or anything, it just wasn't as nice as the first season...
