3rd anniversary 6 star gacha

It's been a while, and I haven't reviewed the last gacha that came out, despite loving it a lot! So let's do it now because I have more to say about it than I initially thought. At first, I actually wanted to skip it. I think I was fooled by, imo, boring color palettes on both outfits. Glade Divinity is a set inspired by Ancient Greece in addition to some of your usual butterflies and flowers, but the greens used in this set are so saturated and unnatural it put me off. Even the shoes (that you can't see) that are basically just anklets, are light green tinted. Neon green tinted metal? No thanks!
Bunny Ballad otoh, has a red, white and blue theme, which makes me think of toothpaste or flags and nothing else. I guess the gold accents kind of save it. I'm also not a fan of the bunnies on the dress, it's too much clutter, but on the plus side this set has so many elements I've been begging to have in LM for a while now so not pulling would make me miss out on stuff that fits my general vibe...
I had also wanted to save for the upcoming 6 star which will come out during LM's anniversary in China, which usually means it'll be big and flashy. However, as soon as I saw some of those Bunny Ballad pieces dyed in better colors, I decided I will at least pull for the set without extending the dyes and wait for the 6 star announcement. And that's what I did, I watched the anniversary stream and...
I don't like the 6 star LOL.

China has been begging for a Nuwa or general snake themed set for a while now, so I'm glad we got it, however I feel like the belly of the snake doesn't really look snake like? It's too similar to the mermaid tail we've got. But that's not what I have an issue with. My general thing is that I'm not all that into these extremely mythical looking sets, especially when they consist of a top and bottom. There's a few reasons, main one being that LM lacks cool tops and sets like these are so rare it kind of kills your customization options, forcing you to always pair the tail with the same top. At least the standing Medusa like hair is a big improvement compared to the hair that came with the mermaid set which was an ugly FLOP. Overall there are some items I'd be glad to get such as that big flowery back item has a second mode that looks like a big exoskeleton - cool but I don't have fomo over potentially missing out on any of them.
I will still be rolling a bit on the upcoming gacha though, and this 5 star set is why! Behold!!!! Weapon? Check. Animal ears? Check. Warrior theme? Check. Leather, fur, beads, tattoos? CHECK. DING DING DING DING. It has everything I want more of lmao. So either way, I'll be getting some of the 6 star items as I roll for this set. The 4 star set is shockingly, themed after eunuchs. It's like the second ever explicitly male set we got in LM (the first one never making it to global cough cough), and tbh this robe will be very versatile in my wardrobe. I'm desperate for any more masculine silhouette things, so overall this gacha will not disappoint, even though I won't be completing the 6 star. I get to come out with probably 10k gems remaining, yay!

In other news, in one of my latest OOTDs I mentioned how the recent Glade Divinity set had a sneak peak of it in a pretty old stream showcasing sketches for upcoming sets. While I'm too lazy to fetch an image of that sketch, I found the sketch for the last remaining set in that stream that didn't get to release yet, the knight themed one. I really hope we get it, it's so sick...
Lastly, the anniversary stream showed us upcoming features and the general roadmap. Some of the things we will be getting super soon is more makeup customization, which caught me by surprise. We'll be able to create asymmetric looks, pair two different lenses for heterochromia, different lipsticks per upper/lower lip, more opacity and color options. They're also introducing an opacity meter for clothes, which will affect only certain areas but I'm hyped for it nonetheless. AND hats will now have a toggle whether you want them to remove pigtails/ponytails or not. This is neat because after we got the ability to resize hats, you could make it so that hats don't really interfere with updos, depending on the item. Hype! One thing that caught my eye in the roadmap was COMPETITIONS! I remember a while back a reddit thread was made on how people really, really don't want an ingame competition aspect because wah wah whales will always win (my evil hag opinion is that I just think a lot of people suck at making cool outfits and don't want to be judged for it muahaha). I wonder how this'll get received once reddit catches wind of this upcoming feature. Personally, I think LM needs a competitive aspect of some sort, but not something incredibly high stakes. I don't think the rewards need to be excessively grand, but being able to get more gold to speed up stuff like beauty courses etc would be so awesome. There needs to be something that makes you want to compete and keep coming back to the game that doesn't necessarily reward only high spenders, while also functioning as a means of inspiration. I know people bring up LN's or SN's (idk which) competition system rewarding mostly whales as a counterpoint, but frankly I think LM has something neither of those two have which is available to everyone for free - character customization. With a cool looking character you can fetch a lot of positive engagement and imo it can totally make or break an outfit. I know that I'm the first one that wouldn't give whales with generic avatars votes LMFAOOO. It's not like we already don't have this technically, if you're a "creator" and have LM social media you can sometimes get small amounts of gems for applying to and winning in competitions they host outside of the game itself - so if this feature became an actual ingame thing as well I'd be all for it. I think we should be judged on the merit of our outfit creating capabilities, not just image editing which I'm usually too lazy for ha ha ha. Of course, I understand why social media comps are important, it helps promote the game and I'm all for them, but they're also exhausting to participate in for me because I don't enjoy extensive video and image editing.
