My summer vacation has really went by well this year. I did so many activities this time around... the week we spent at the seaside was not ideal hot weather wise, meaning we had more time to explore and I'm glad we did!! The town we visited probably has one of the most beautiful old city centers in the whole country, which is interesting because it's not the most common location for tourists. I've done visits to almost all of the larger coastal cities, usually during school trips, and this one takes the cake for me. One thing that slightly sucked was the lack of beaches, but that wasn't a huge issue. We also went to one of the national parks (and got scammed out of 60€ frankly), and did swimming in the extremely cold river which was fun, but it did make me feel like my ovaries shriveled up, I shed all of my skin and rebirthed myself all at once. After the seaside it was me and husband solo time hanging out. We went hiking to Sljeme through one of the chiller trails, and the weather and views were perfect!! We came back down by the funicular and it felt a bit frightening at certain parts. I'm not really scared of heights but seeing the drastic changes in those poles that hold the funicular made me feel uneasy for some reason. After that we went to Slovenia by train, and it was my first time in Ljubljana. It's true what they say, Slovenia is a decade ahead the rest of the Balkans... The cities infrastructure is very supportive for biking and they've got a really cute and cheap city biking system set up so we did a lot of bike riding around the city... We also did some rowing in the nearby Nature Park. I came back home dead but I managed to go to the river near my house for one last day.. and then I got a fever. Then the last week spent with my family I spent sick which really sucked. The last few days I had to rush around saying goodbyes to everyone I know, and I sadly didn't manage to meet up with my best friend before leaving.
While I was in Ljubljana I saw a funny graffiti "Arm Trans Women", which reminds me, the one and only transwoman in Croatia whom I personally know killed a man about two weeks ago. I read the news about how a woman (lmao) killed a man in this club I frequent but I didn't pay much attention to it because I drifted away a bit from the community and figured it's nobody I actually know. I was chilling on the beach sipping overpriced ice coffee when I received a call from my friend telling me who the murderer is... I don't know what to say really. The brave and stunning creature has been known as a local menace for years now, but nobody ever wanted to do anything to him as he was always extremely aggressive about his protected vulnerable minority status and a frontman of a moderately popular (for the scene it's in) punk band. He's been a public personality for a long while too, way before he came out as trans. He used to do political stunts in public and would always be singled out as the voice of the movement because he would be extremely loud and proud of whatever his political stances were, but unsurprisingly he's one of the most dimwitted people I had ever met. I always did my best to avoid him as much as possible but due to our shared circles I had close encounters with him many a times. It's sad to see him become the perfect scapegoat as proof that all leftists are smelly drug users due to being so retarded, I just hope this doesn't end up with the club closing down... Oh and did I mention he was the biggest ACAB/anarchist that would call the police every time he got misgendered? Don't worry, I'm respecting his pronouns, he'd refer to himself as male frequently when he got drunk :-D.
